Hebridean Sheep for Sale or Loan

Only current members of the Society can advertise stock for sale or loan on this website. Non members looking for sheep are welcome to put an ad on the Sheep Wanted page.

To Place an Advertisement

Please contact us, select Buying/Selling in the dropdown, and give details of the animals for sale. Please include your contact information, an approximate location (e.g your county or nearby town)  plus a note of your Flock Prefix and Flock Registration Number.

If you want to include a photograph of the sheep with your ad, please send your photo with your name, flock prefix and flock number to this email.

All Hebridean sheep advertised must either be registered or Birth Notified with the Society, in which case they must be registered by the breeder when sold.

Hebridean sheep sold privately on other websites as 'pure-bred' or 'pedigree' but without the registration document are probably not registered and cannot be registered retrospectively

Because the Society promotes the use of Hebridean sheep for crossing with Blue Faced Leicester rams to breed Hebridean Mules, member flocks may also advertise Hebridean Mule females bred from registered Hebridean ewes.

All Hebridean sheep are registered with the society (see panel at right) and are sold as seen and at the risk of the purchaser. Please note that these sheep cannot be guaranteed by the Society.

Entered Primitive ram lamb Frome show 14/9/24 and anyone interested can watch him being shown and have a chat. Available for private sale after this date as the HSS sales are too far for me to travel. Near Wells, Somerset.

The long-established Carrcross flock has two shearling rams, one two-horned (proven sire) and one four-horned, two ewe lambs (one four-horned) and a selection of two- and four-horned ram lambs for sale which will be registered. Sired by Carrcross Erik, 1801/19 or Carrcross Gingko, 1829/20. Reared at 400m a.s.l. Local delivery available at cost of diesel. South-west Shropshire.

Buying Registered stock

• Registered stock born before 2020 will have a metal ear tag engraved 'HEB.SS' along with it's individual registration number, plus year of birth. All registered sheep have a yellow A4 registration document with UK ID tag numbers that match those on the animal.
• When purchasing your sheep, you should check that the vendor will sign and send the transfer form to the Society.
• Hebridean sheep can only be registered by the breeder and only if they are the progeny of fully registered parents.
